Taiwanese company ASRock continues to expand the range of motherboards for the HEDT-platform Intel X299. This time, a motherboard called X299 Extreme4 is being prepared for release. As you know, the Extreme4 series is designed for overclocking enthusiasts, but at the same time it has a good price/performance ratio.

ASRock X299 Extreme4 is equipped with a 10-phase power subsystem of the CPU and supports all multi-core “stones” of the Skylake-X architecture. To install the DDR4-4200 RAM modules on the motherboard there are eight slots, and its maximum capacity is 128 GB. Users can access three PCI Express 3.0 x16 expansion slots, which can be used to create 2-Way SLI and 3-Way CrossFireX graphics links, and one PCI Express 3.0 x1.

To connect the drives used eight SATA ports 6 Gb/s and two connectors M.2. The operation of the wired network interface and the audio system is the responsibility of the Intel I219V and Realtek ALC1220 controllers, respectively. The rear panel contains the PS/2 (x2), USB 2.0 (x2), USB 3.0 (x4), USB 3.1 Type-A (x1), USB 3.1 Type-C (x1), RJ-45 network interface and audio outputs.

ASRock X299 Extreme4 is made in the standard ATX format and measures 305×244 mm. The product is equipped with LED RGB-backlight, besides it supports the connection of two additional LED strips. Approximate price in European retail is €220.
