The phone comes with all the usual accessories – a charging cable, the charger itself and the simplest transparent silicone case. Also included is a user’s manual in English.

Design and appearance

When it comes to design, it’s safe to say that the phone looks cool, but it’s completely made of plastic. It does not feel cheap, but some metal elements would add to it a more premium look.

There are two colors available: blue and gold. On the top of the device, there is a 3.5 mm audio output, and a micro USB port for charging, definitely an unusual location of the port. Geotel Note weighs 147 grams, and its dimension is 152.9 × 76.8 × 8.2 mm. The smartphone has good ergonomics and it just doesn’t slip.

Display: diagonal and resolution

The Geotel Note has a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixel. As a budget phone, the matrix itself is quite good. Even under the rays of sunlight, the display of this phone behaves with dignity. The 8-megapixel front camera is set right at above the screen. LED notification and customizable on-screen navigation keys at the bottom of the display.

The back panel has a glossy finish, but it also looks pretty good and suits the overall design of the smartphone. However, this is a huge magnet for your fingerprints. If you use the smartphone without a cover, you’ll require to wipe it very often. You can easily remove the back cover and under it you will find a slot for 2 SIM-cards, a slot for micro SD card and a replaceable battery for 3200 mAh.

What’s under the lid

The main camera: Geotel Note has a 13-megapixel camera and a 1-LED LED flash on the back. The volume buttons can perform the function of shutter release of the camera. It is made of plastic and has tactile response.

Speaker: Let’s be frank, its quality is rather mediocre, and the sound could be better.

Platform: processor, memory and firmware

For this price, the smartphone has a pretty good stuffing. We are talking about the processor MediaTek MT6737 and 3/16 GB of operating and flash memory respectively. Note that Geotel Note is one of the most affordable phones with 3 GB of RAM. The flash drive has 16 GB memory, of which about 10-12 GB is available to the user.

Fortunately, under the lid, there is a microSD slot, with which you can expand the phone’s memory by another 32 GB. Game performance is worthwhile, if you are satisfied with the average graphics settings in games like Asphalt 8.

Budgetary Geotel Note runs on the operating system Android 6.0 Marshmallow with several additional features. For example, you can select one of several gestures to control system applications using these very gestures. Some of them work well, others react rather slowly. In general, the user interface is fast and smooth even after installing a large number of applications. In my opinion, this is the most important aspect in a budget phone.

Cameras

Of course, you should not expect good camera from cheap phones, but Geotel Note can make good photos in daylight. The photos are slightly blurry, but the colors on the images are saturated. Do not forget that this smartphone costs only 80-90 dollars. Naturally, in poor lighting, the image quality is no longer as good as in daylight. With the front-camera, the same thing happens. The video quality is mediocre, like most of the other cheap phones.

Battery and interfaces

The device does not cause problems with the mobile Internet. It finds no problem in connecting to the GPS signal. Wireless modules Wi-Fi, Bluetooth – all these works on Geotel Note, as it should. At the same time, the device is equipped with a 3200 mAh battery and offers more than 5 screen/ hours, and this is a decent result for the budget employee.

Conclusion: pros and cons

Geotel Note aims to give you the maximum for its price. I liked multiple ideas about this budget phone. Without crashing the programs, 3 GB RAM remain in memory when switching between them. Another plus is support for 4G LTE and autonomy of the smartphone. If the screen remains active for 4-5 hours, the device will last about 1 day. Counting the minuses of the device – Weak cameras and not the most top-end iron. But as we have already found out, with such a price, the device could have just the compromising features.

Pros

Minuses

Affordable price

Weak iron

Body Materials

Mediocre cameras

The presence of 3 GB of RAM

Support 4G LTE

Personal impressions

In 2017, Geotel Note is a bright representative of budget smartphones (less than $100) from China. It is stylish, has support for 4G LTE, 3 GB memory on board, and a microSD slot for external memory cards. In addition, it runs about a day from one charge and has a good TrueView display. Among the cons of the Geotel Note is, of course, its camera, but this is a common phenomenon with all budget Chinese smartphones.
