Review Here One: miniature bluetooth headphones for extravert

Do you often hear what’s happening around you while listening to music on headphones? Why even hear anything except music? I find the answer to these questions when my old friend offered to take on the review of “smart” headphones “Here One” from the iLounge online store. Their smartness not only reflects in their introducing of the application for management but also in their analyzing the surrounding sound, thanks to special microphones. Deal with it through the clever algorithms and it will allow you listening to music and hearing what is happening around coherently. The usual “gags” with rubber seals (known for good sound insulation) are used in it though.

What is Here One?

Authoritatively, Here One is a pair of entirely wireless Bluetooth headphones, stuffed with technologies. But the manufacturers themselves argue that it isn’t an alternative for headphones, or a Bluetooth headset. Occasional use includes your receiving an incoming call while listening to a concert at the same time. Or board on an airplane with it and listen to music and the crew’s messages simultaneously.

Who designed Here One?

The developers of Here One is Doppler Labs, which has another project for Dubs headphones. These wireless headphones are now sold on Amazon for $ 20 and perform, in fact, the same tasks. You’ll miss the sophisticated design of Apple, applications for Android and iOS in it. Now, a startling news for Apple fans who sincerely believe that AirPods were the first. Dubs appeared in 2014, Here One in 2015, and finally AirPods – in 2016.

How Does One Work?

Inside the Here One, immediately behind the surface, you’ll see a microphone that sends incoming sound to the signal processor. It also drives the sound through its algorithms selected in the application from the preset profiles, and then sends it to the reinforcement speaker. Here, the outcome is controlled by another microphone whose signal also enters the signal processing and is modified.

What’s in the Box with Here One?

In the box, you’ll get a charging box that allows you to fully charge the Here One. Once charged, it can run up to 8 hours. While listening to music, don’t go without recharging for more than 2 hours, otherwise the battery may drain.

How often should I charge Here One?

The capacity of the built-in battery is only 50 mAh for each earpiece, the external battery in the box has another 575 mAh. And don’t forget to bring your headphones back into the box in order to save them from discharging promptly. The box itself charges 3-4 hours, has its own LED to indicate the charging mode. When fully charged, its color changes from orange to green. True, in the bright sun these LEDs from Here One are not visible, in the summer at the window it is necessary to cover the LED with the palm to see its color. Here Ones are suitable for short-term and episodic use. But if you’re thinking of listening to music all day in them, you should change your plan.

How do they sound here?

From such miniature headphones audiophile miracles cannot be expected, of course. Hearing the sounds of the outside world during your listening to the music, you begin to feel yourself acoustically on a submarine. Consequently, each sound is heard clearly and is felt better than in real life. Pretty interesting experience, indeed. Negative outcomes are also not surprising.

Final words

Here Ones are an interesting gadget designed not for replacing wireless headphones, but for occasionally listening to music. Its distinctiveness lies in its allowing the sounds of the surrounding to enter concurrently. Very handy for drivers who need to hear the world around with music. Too expensive, and we also can’t ignore the fact that Here One needs to recharge constantly.
