About the design of Oneplus 5T
One might say that the design of the smartphone has not changed, but the frameless screen is also a significant part of the design. The usual Oneplus 5 did not like my appearance. I have been watching their smartphones from the very beginning, and I think that the first Oneplus was cool and unique. It was different from everything that was on the market, both in appearance and tactile. The second Oneplus was a pure experiment. And in the third iteration of the smartphone, the company could not stand it, and began partly to borrow some features from competitors, maybe consciously, or maybe not. And in this there is nothing wrong, because everything here is like musicians – if you often listen to the songs of other performers, then, even unconsciously, somewhere you will repeat them.
Oneplus 3 / 3T, although it was some elements similar to somewhere on HTC, somewhere on the Huawei Mate, has incorporated in its design is not the most embarrassing features. But in Oneplus 5, in my opinion, something went wrong. Now Oneplus has become, not only that, like everything else, so also borrowing the look of different smartphones is not the most successful: somewhere it looks like Xiaomi, somewhere on the iPhone 7 plus, somewhere on any other Chinese smartphone. And again I repeat: it’s bad not that there is an element of borrowing, it’s bad that not the most successful design solutions are borrowed.
About the power
I bought myself a Oneplus 5T for 64 GB and 6 GB of RAM. Why Oneoplus do not give the user the opportunity to use a memory card – a mystery. One pleases – the surcharge for the model for 128 GB is only 50 bucks, it’s not so much.
About Snapdragon 835 I have nothing to say, but here’s the work Oxygen OS on this processor is somehow abnormally fast. It is faster than Pixel 2. Animation is lightning fast. Applications that hang in the background open without delay, as if you did not turn it off. Every year you think: that, well, the speed limit is reached, but then you realize that the manufacturer is now struggling not with the speed of the smartphone, but with the speed of your reaction.
About the camera
Here is the weak point of this smartphone. In any funny story there is a problem place. Oneplus 5T is the perfect proof that the camera, to date, is the most difficult module of any smartphone. You can buy any hardware, you can customize the work of the system, but you can not do first-class work of software and cameras without having enough expertise in this matter. Similar expertise has companies that can be counted on the fingers of one hand: Samsung, Google, Apple, Huawei, LG, perhaps that’s it.
About the time of work
Nothing has changed compared to the Oneplus 5, even though the screen has become larger. Oneplus 5T is a living creature, the 3300 mAh battery squeezes out all the juices, and the smartphone I pulled almost 6 hours of screen work. But the question is not even in the time of work, but in the charging speed – Oneplus 5T charges from Dashcharge indecently fast.
